Weekend in Salt Lake

We had a fun visit with family.  The kids thought it was awesome that they got to see ALL three sets of Grandparents in our visit this time.  That WAS fun.
The boys dropped us girls off Saturday morning at the Valley Fair Mall while we went to shop at Claire's.  Kaiya still had some birthday money she wanted to spend there.  We had so much fun exploring the mall together!  They boys had fun too at Grandpa Ottley's looking through his big jug of coins to see if they could find the ones Kaleb needed to pass off his coin collecting merit badge.
Katelin found this cute Ariel hat with hair, hahaha.

We stopped in at Bath and Body Works also to smell all of the lotions and sprays.  The girls loved spraying the little cards to take with us.  Kaiya is wearing her new headband she just bought and her new bag which was on clearance, score!

Later the our kids and Robyn's kids stayed at mom and Dave's while all of us siblings and spouses and my dad and Gail headed over to Hale Center Theater to watch Les Miserable.  It was really good, its amazing what they can do in that tiny space!

Here's Robyn and Tiff being silly, well Robyn started it, as usual!  haha :)

Then we met up with Cal, Cyndy and Chalei at Yogurtland, it was YUMMY.  Then the kids played on these bears while Grandma headed into Deseret Book to look around.

We really had a great weekend visiting family.  So glad we got to go.

Out and about

We took the kids to the spot we found the next Sunday.  We had fun exploring together.  I just LOVE these people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

....had to get me in there :)
The flowers are just starting to bloom in the desert, we're going to try and get a pic each week and see the change.  I'm EXCITED.
They are GOOFY, and I love it.

a date

Burke and I headed out one evening to explore GR.  It was a lot of fun!  We only had 1/2 an hour since Kaleb doesn't like us to leave them home alone..........I'm sure he'll get used to it, right?!  hahaha.  The girls were fine.
We drove out one way and found our way to the opposite side of the geyser!  That was cool!
I loved the reflection off the water.
I LOVE the paper ripped look of the Book Cliffs at sunset.
 We passed some cows.
This one gave us the stare down.  We had stopped on our way out though and had a good talk with him, so he didn't give us much trouble.  hehehe :) He TOTALLY won the staring contest though!!
 FULL moons are AWESOME!
We made it back just a tiny bit late, but Kaleb forgave us.

friends

The girls are lucky to have friends nearby and they come and play often.  Sometimes they'll come to me and ask for a snack, so I'll put chopped up carrots and apples and crackers on a plate, a pitcher of water and set it on the table on the porch and they think it is the coolest thing ever.  I love doing these simple things for them to be able to have a fun hangout.

Jr. Jazz!!! (Katelin 1st grade)

This is Katelin's first year participating in Jr. Jazz.  Burke told the kids they should all play this year, Katelin was the only child of ours that jumped for joy, hahaha!  Kaiya refused and Kaleb didn't want to.  He played in Kindergarten, and hasn't wanted to since!  Burke told him he needed to do it again.  So he said OK!  (I'll do another post with him, later)  I told the kids to tell Burke that if he was going to make them play then they should make him coach!  Hahaha, So Burke actually put his name down on the sign up sheet under volunteer...........and they called and asked him to be Katelin's age coach.  Katelin was SO excited, Burke wasn't.  :)  But he's fine with it now, and does such a great job with the 12 crazy kids.  Half Kindergartner's and half first graders!  TOO cute!

She totally just posed this one up for me.  hahaha, she's so cute.
Getting her pic taken.

She is really aggressive in this game!  She is not afraid to get in there and block and steal; it is amazing to watch this little girl!

SO excited her team made a point..........love this!!!!  :)

Weston has been helping out when they split the grades for a game sometimes, its so nice to have his help!
CUTIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kaleb receives the Priesthood!

On March 2nd, we had Grandparents (except Cyndy couldn't make it) and sweet Aunt Chalei came too.  Kaleb was all smiles, it was so great to witness this special day.  I was really happy to get this picture of these great men who laid their hands upon his head.  I mainly remember him being blessed to be able to choose the right and to use the atonement in his life.  I'm so grateful for the Priesthood, we are so blessed to have it on the earth.
Men who stood in circle: John Hughes, Grandpa Ottley, Grandpa Simmons, KALEB, Burke (dad), Bishop Bo Harrison, Scott Robertson.

Here's a picture of all of us there that day.  SO grateful for these sweeties for coming.  :)  After church we had turkey soup and a 7 layer jello dish per Kaleb's request.  Yum!  Oh, but before we ate, Kaleb had to go collect fast offerings from 5 homes, so both Grandpa's and Burke jumped in the car with him and they drove him to each home; Burke went up with him and he did great.  :)  My dad took some pics, I'll have to get them.

Sunday, March 9th Kaleb passed the sacrament for his first time.  He was very worried that he wouldn't know what to do.  He went and sat with the boys and.........cried.  His friends were so kind and told him it would be fine.  He passed to us first and just cried and cried, but he kept on passing row after row wiping his tears....some people thought it was just really special to him, hahaha - it is, but not why the tears fell.  By the time he brought us the water, he was already a bit more confident and realized it wasn't that bad/hard and he COULD do this!!!!!  I remember feeling helpless, like I would love to help him, but knew he had to do this, he knew too and wanted too.  After he passed the water to us and went to the row behind us I peeked back at him and he looked at me, I smiled and gave him a GOOD JOB wink, he smiled; I felt SO relieved.  I love him so much.  I'm proud of him for just doing it even through the tears.  Isn't it great that these kids learn these things while they are young and that they have these great responsibilities and they succeed!  It is wonderful!  I'll always remember this day.

Found some pictures at our house of games being played after we ate.  I love these memories:

Playing Jenga, then Grandpa O set them up like Dominos; we all loved watching them go down, its so calming for some reason.  :)

And Foosball with Aunt Chalei

Kaleb's bday

Kaleb LOVES Legos.  Burke found these big sets for him and he was SO excited to get them bday morning.  He also had Oh's cereal and Krave for his choice and then we met all the cousins that could come to see the Lego movie.  I was skeptical, but it was really cute.  We all loved it!  Then we headed to Omi's for lunch and cake.
We combined the party cake for these three, Kaleb, Kaiya and Reagan.  Happy Birthday to these three cuties!!!!!!!!!!!

Kaleb got more Legos from family, he was NOT disapointed.  :)
Kaiya got a Barbie...
And she got to hold Tiff's families new puppy, Charlie.  CUTIE.
For Kaleb's bday dinner he really wanted LOBSTER.  Burke was excited to make it.  We were staying at Ryan and Erin's, so Ryan and Burke went shopping for the food AND cooked it all.  Well, Erin did make the raw alfredo sauce and cucumber noodles.  It was all seriously GOOD...
And this boy was all smiles, shrimp and lobster.  NICE!  Happy Birthday to my 12 year old.  What a fun day.
Burke and I got to head out on a date Monday night.  We went to Farmington to this great outdoor mall with this cool restaurant style food place, we got a yummy salad and sat by the fire to eat it.  I LOVED it!!!!!  :)  Then we went to see The Adventures of Mitty - something like that - it was a fun movie.
