Cub Scout Graduate!!!

Kaleb graduated from Cub Scouts!!!!!!!!!!  I seriously can't believe it.  AND we almost didn't make it to this because, well we forgot!  We remembered in the morning...does that count?!  Yes, one of those awesome friends I talked about in the post before this called and said "are you guys coming????"  AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, YES!!!!!!!  He threw on his shirt and I was already in my pj's, so I had to change quick, wow.  THANKS Melissa!!!!!!!  Would have been sad to miss this.
He does such a good job at pinning those things on me, never one poke.  :)

New scout leader.
Way to go Kaleb!!!  He did SO much to get this.  Burke helped him a ton and he had great leaders.  How cool!  :)  Now onto passing things off so he can gain his Eagle!!!!!!!!  OK, baby steps.  :)  Burke has big goals for him to get it by the time he's 14 though, so yah, we'll see how that goes!  Haha!

Friends at the park

What can I say, but that I'm very grateful for friends.  The other day I sent out a text that we'd be at the park and to come if they wanted to or could.  Taffee, Annie, Hilary, Melissa, Lacey and Danielle all showed up with their cute kids.  The kids just love each other and play so well together.  Oh and later one of Kaiya's friends, Ashlyn and her little sister, had her Grandma bring them over to play.  They all ran around and played tag, played with the little kids, pushed them on swings.  Us moms had turns pushing kids on swings also and just talked and laughed.  I just love them all so much and am thankful to have them in our lives.  Especially being a ways away from family, it's so nice to have people you can trust and count on for help or just to swing and talk with.  :)  LOVE YOU FRIENDS!!!  :)

Kaleb & Kate

Katelin just really loves this big brother of hers.  He loves reading to her.  He was reading the Bone books to her and she loved it.  He is a bit mono tone in his reading when he reads to us...but when I heard him reading to her, there was all sorts of character in there!  It was SO awesome!!!  I loved it.
During his cub scout graduation night she was so impressed with all of his awards.
We were taking his picture with his arrow of light and she wanted in on that one also, she thought that was awesome!  And it was.
Love that my kids LOVE each other!

April Fools Day

Last year Burke and I did some funny things to the kids for this funny day, but this year we hadn't really planned anything, so while Burke and Kaleb were playing the Wii the night before, the girls and I decided to look up a couple funny ideas and get them ready for the morning.  One I forgot to take a picture of.  We took googly eyes and hot glued them to a bunch of stuff in the fridge.  They thought that was kind of silly, and it was.  BUT we redeemed ourselves with the other idea.  Haaaahahaha!  When they woke up in the morning Kaiya went and got a casserole dish that had a lid on it and told them we had made some brownies for them the night before.  She opened it up and took out the Big and little brown e's that we had cut out of brown paper.  Bwahahaha!  Kaleb wasn't too excited about that, he wanted REAL brownies!!!
But they ate them anyway.  Hahaha!
That was fun to get the girls on it, they were so excited to play tricks on the boys.

more easter weekend...& random stuff

Here's some more things that we did over our Easter break.  We went on a nice bike ride around the BIG block.

Katelin played some "tunes" on the electric guitar.  I just thought she looked like such a natural playing, had to snap a pic.

We had a little camp fire for hotdogs and marshmallows.  It's always nice to sit around the fire.
Here's their hunt I did for them in the backyard Saturday morning.  I just hid all the eggs in the trees and grass, etc.  It was a beautiful morning!

Later on they wanted to set up this tiny pool with this baby slide Grandma had given us.  She was getting rid of it.  Hahaha, they looked so big going down it, but they had a blast.
One of the days it was raining a bit, so the girls and their friend Emma got out the umbrellas and played in the rain.  They loved it that they had an excuse to use them.
Sunday morning we hid their baskets around the house.
Katelin found her basket!!!!!!!!
Kaleb found his!!!!!!!!
Kaiya found hers!!!!!!!
This year Burke decided to get them each a HUGE chocolate Bunny.  He remembered getting one as a kid and thought that was really cool.  So did our kids.  I thought the bunnies face fit it better after they had bitten his hear off.  Hahaha!

easter

The HUNT:  ( then wanted to do one that night to find the eggs they colored.  That was a first!  Love it when they come up with their own ideas and tradidtions.  :)

Every year this Easter Bunny is at the Chow Hound and after the kids sit with him for a picture they get a free ice cream cone.  Katelin gladly sat with him.  Kaiya was home sick, but they let us get a cone for her anyway, NICE!
Kaleb wasn't going to do it!  The owner said he had to for ice cream...and so here he is, even a smile!  Hahahahaaaaaa!  Anything for ice cream!
Growing up we always went to the "white hills" near Aurora to roll eggs down the hills.  We LOVED it!!  So Burke had never heard of this so we just didn't do it.  But this year I said we were doing it!  We had also wanted to hike to the "G" hill, so we just combined the two activities, hiked to the G and rolled our eggs while up there.  It was great!  I'm sure we'll be doing this again.
Aaaaaaaaand we're ready to go!
Pose it up!!!!!!!!!
And mom's turn...shoulda skipped that!  Hahaha!

Pretty big lizard.  Usually they find tiny ones when we're out and about.
At the top Burke was pointing out everything they could see as we overlooked the town.  They were impressed!
Kate and I didn't want to go all the way to the actual G.  It was a bit steep, so we hung out and took pictures of ourselves.

Ready, SET, ROLL!!!!!
Kaleb had to roll one on this other hill also.  It was fun watching them roll so far and then break into pieces.
They decided to slide down instead of walk.
Katelin hung on to Burke on the way down, it was so cute to watch.
Then...I was stuck up there by myself and my knees weren't letting me head down on my own.  So Burke came to my rescue and the kids began to follow.  It was a sweet rescue site, I'm sure loved!  What a bunch of cuties.
