Girls Camp video

I got to go to girls camp this last week, Tuesday through Friday. I really had a great time, even through the drama that comes with girls. I felt the spirit, got to know the girls and other leaders more and just had a really good time. I even slept good and I wasn't expecting that. :) I put together this video of pictures I took and a couple of the young women took also. I'm going to give a copy to each of them. This song that's with the video, Live Like You Believe, is by Jenny Phillips. We sang it a few times at camp. It's such a pretty song, I love it.

YW hike

We did our hike yesterday near the Book Cliffs for the Young Women's 5 and 3 mile hikes. It was so beautiful. We went in the evening and then afterwards we cooked our yummy tinfoil dinners. It was really fun, except for the wind. My eyes couldn't take that!

Cute girls! We made it!
We head out to girls camp on Tuesday. I'll report back with how it was when I return. I'm excited. It sound like a lot of fun. I just hope it's not windy... or snowing. :) We're going over near Monticello to camp. Wish me luck!!!

Cedar City trip

We went to Cedar over the weekend to see Burke's Grandma. She was visiting at his uncle's house. She hadn't even met Kaiya yet, so we thought it was time for a visit for sure! It was a good visit. We hung out with his cousin Brooke's family one day and went to this place called 2,000 flushes - or something like that. Really pretty place, but really cold water! Didn't stop the boys from jumping in though. The rest of us played in the shallow muddy warm part.

They found this wooden raft and all the kids wanted on it. Then it started to sink. So naturally they all jumped off and were a bit freaked out by that. No more wooden raft for them.
This was the walk down to the water. Kinda far. But they looked for lizards along the way and we were there in no time.
Isn't that just SO pretty?!
We had to park our van and hop in the back of their vehicle at one point because our van wouldn't have made some of the bumps. So their dog had to run after us. He did great! What a good dog.
They also took us to this place to see some Eagle nests. We didn't get to see the Eagles. I guess we went to early in the day. It was still cool to see the nests. They are just huge!

Baby Shower

My friend Heather and I had a baby shower for our friend Jessica last Thursday. It turned out really fun. It is her second girl. Instead of doing games we decided to do some crafts. We made bows for her girls and a banner that says "Welcome home baby girl" to put across her front porch railing. Everything turned out so cute and we had such yummy treats. Fun, fun!

I actually found this frame on the side of the road. Someone had some stuff outside their house with a sign on it that said FREE. So I took it! Heather is little miss crafty lady (check out her stuff over at Small Fry and co.) and she took it and spray painted it and then put scrapbook paper on the back and then ribbon. It turned out SO cute. Then we all decorated it with the bows we made at the party. Such fun.

Visit to Salt Lake

Burke had to take a test last week, so we went a long with him and visited my mom and Dave, I got my hair cut and colored (thanks Tiff!) and played with my sister Robyn and her kids while Burke was gone. It was a quick, but fun trip. We hadn't seen them for a couple of months so we were due for a visit.

The kids wanted to wait outside while they waited for their cousins to come.

Robyn and I sat inside while the kids ran in and out and in and out. It was quit exhausting! It was fun talking with my sis though, always fun doing that. :)
Sally was excited they had arrived too. She ran around so fast and made everyone squeal and laugh. Funny kids, and dog.

Hollywood Connection

These pictures are really dark. I didn't take time to fix them. They are of the kids at Hollywood Connections. We met Burke's parents there last weekend when we were in Salt Lake. The kids went on the rides, got a balloon made for them and we watched a magic show. Pretty fun day with Grandma and Grandpa.

Pin Cushion

I have never owned a pin cushion. I know, crazy. So I finally decided to make one. I searched "pin cushions" on the Make it and Love it site and found one that I liked. So I just looked around my house, found stuff that would work and poof! I had myself a pin cushion. I made it and I love it, just like that gal says! Hahaha. Easy.

I cleaned out an old candle tin.
Glued some Scrapbook paper around it.
Got some denim and started hot gluing it to the inside of the tin, added some pillow filler stuff. Glued the rest down, added a bow and the pins, of course. Done and fun.

Ottley Reunion

We had it at the park in Aurora. When we got there Burke saw the park and asked if that was the one we were meeting at. I had to remind him that was the only one there, so yes. :) Gotta love small towns. It is a really pretty park though. We stayed there all day and ate, talked did crafts - which I forgot to take pictures of. That was fun.

Here's some pics of our day. Aren't these boys just adorable? They always have so much fun together.
They kept doing this huddle to make their "plans". So cute.
Juli and some of the kiddos made some beautiful chalk drawings. The kids got prizes from a treasure hunt they all did. One of them got these chalks. And this is also where my sis Tiff's kids and my kids rode their bikes a lot. Kaiya had just learned to ride without her training wheels the day before. So all she's wanted to do is ride. I'm glad we brought those bikes along.
The kids were soaked the majority of the afternoon. Give kids a bucket of water and some cups and they'll entertain themselves for hours!
Reagan and Katelin followed each other around quit a bit through out the day and had some good conversations together. I think Reagan must be singing. They were sharing that toy Katelin had gotten from the treasure hunt and pretended it was a microphone for quit a while.

This is my sister Tiff's youngest child, Oakley. She is just getting so big. I LOVED holding her and playing with her. She has the cutest laugh and smile. Just love that girl!
My dad and Gail. Cuties!

We had to go and eat, Katelin didn't want to right then.
Kaiya sportin' Grandpa Ottley's hat.
The boys had to play one more round of this game called Bocce. What a pretty night.
We headed over to my Grandma's when it was getting dark for the camp fire. We only stayed for a little while and then headed home. What a great day with family. Love them!

By Request

I've had requests to post a pic of Burke with his new do like Kaleb's. So here you go. And you can also meet our, well let's be honest, Burke and the kids new pet snake! Ahhh, yuck. They named it Freddie. I just saw my little Katelin hold it today, I felt like yelling NOOOOOOOO! But they all just love it and it is very nice. Burke loves this thing, just look at that smile. Boys!
We had gone to a friends so the kids could play with them in their little kiddie pool. Kaleb was still in his suit. They could just run around in their swim suits all summer, I'm sure.

Kaiya lost a tooth!!!

Yes, this is Kaiya's first tooth she has lost. It was quit a funny experience. She was SO emotional about it. Very different than how it was with Kaleb. He just wiggled and wiggled it and then had Burke pull it out using a rag. Kaiya bawled a lot and was so worried about it. Then she finally wanted it out because it was just hanging there. Burke was willing to help her out, but she finally just said she wanted to do it herself. So she took the rag and pulled it out!

Look how tiny.

Then she was a happy girl again with her hole in her mouth. Look at her eyes, you can tell she had been crying. So sad. The one next to it is loose also, so now she's working on it. Not as worried anymore.

Oops!

Kaleb needed a haircut badly. So I finally got around to it the other day. I got the clippers all ready with the size I wanted to cut it and started cutting away. After I got through a few swipes, my jaw dropped. And when I looked on the floor the black little thingy you put on the clippers had fallen off, so I was just shaving him bald right there! He was so upset and so was I. I tried to fix/hide it by cutting his hair with the shortest size I could find, but that wasn't working. It looked like this:
So I had Burke shave the rest of the bottom part bald and cut the top super short. He hated it at first, but then liked it soon after. Especially since you couldn't see a huge bald spot on the back of his head. At least it's summer and it will feel good right?! Burke cut his just like it so Kaleb wouldn't feel bad. What a dad. He made me take these pictures so he could see the back when I messed up and then after it was fixed.
He felt a lot better about it all. Look at that shiny smile with his retainer in. Oh, did I mention he got retainers a while back. If I didn't...he has retainers now. There. :)
