Chicken's!

Burke has wanted to get chickens for years now. This was the year that it happened. I think it happened this year because we have a hardware store in town now and they are selling them. This way we don't have to go out of town to get them. Nice!

Robyn's family came to visit over spring break and they were so excited to meet the baby chicks and hold them too.
During the day Burke was getting the sprinkler system ready to go for the season and the kids thought it would be fun to run in the sprinklers. So they got their swim suits on. After the fun was over Katelin still wanted to hang out in her swimsuit and boots. I had to get a shot of her in her get up and her marshmallow face. CUTE!

The kids sure love these chicks. All of them went out and visited with them many times a day. Burke made the girls old doll house into their little home and put up chicken wire so they would have some space to roam. I can't wait for them to start laying eggs!

babe

Pigs were born at my friend Danielle's house! They have a ranch and one of their pigs had babies one night. They had to bring them inside and feed them because they almost died overnight. They are doing well now and back with their momma. Whew! Such a different world over there. We love to visit. I really wanted to bring the kids to see the piglets, and she said to come on over. So we did.

When we got there they were feeding them bottles...
Colette was trying to keep them from escaping off of the mat they had set out.

Katelin took a turn holding one of them. So cute!
They were making all sorts of pig noises too. It was really funny.
Cody let Katelin help out in feeding this little piggie.
There are marks on them so they could tell them apart and write down which ones had eaten, which ones went to the bathroom, etc.
One of their cats also had babies. Kaleb had to hold one.
We said hello to the cows and other animals outside also.
It is always an adventure visiting the Holyoaks.

Cute Kaiya

Kaiya lost her first top tooth last week. We've been telling her how cute she looks with that tooth gone. Now the one next to it is loose so she told me that she's going to be even CUTER when that one comes out too!!!

Sunday getaway

We needed to get out Sunday afternoon. So off to the beach we went. Burke saw a glove in the water and told the kids to hold on to him while he tried to get it. (he was just being silly, but they ran and grabbed onto him) They laughed and laughed as they held onto him so he wouldn't fall in. They held on tight, they didn't want to lose that guy!
The sky was gorgeous!

The girls asked right away if they could take their shoes off. Of course!
Katelin ran and ran. She loved the feel of the sand on her feet too.
They rolled down a little sand hill.
Kaiya drew a picture of herself in the sand.
The sun kept hiding behind the clouds every once in a while, so this pic is pretty dark. Kaleb and Burke went off on their own and explored.
They brought back walking sticks they had found for everyone.
What a great getaway.

Visit from the Beesley's

Juli and her kids came over the weekend to bring us their Acura that we bought from them! They bought a new van to fit #4 in more easily. We were so excited to have them. It was really a lot of fun. Arik came on Saturday after work. They left Sunday morning. We introduced them to the game Blokus. I love playing games. It's always fun to play them with more people.
Burke did a science experiment making Kool-aid carbonated. The kids enjoyed watching the whole process and trying it out in the end.

Her kids have DS's and little gameboy things. These little ones had fun playing them together. They look so cute. There was play-dough fun also.
Boys are so silly. Afton is so patient with their craziness.
Porter's face cracks me up in this picture - him watching his goofy cousin. So cute.

Later we played games, one being the Headband game. It's pretty funny watching them guess what picture is on their head. And watching the other kids try so hard not to tell them what it is.

The kids played outside a lot even though it was a bit cold and windy. We played in the gym at the High School also to get some of their energy out. Holy moly, we were busy! Seriously thanks for coming Beesley's!!! We enjoyed it.

We've been so spoiled with visitors lately. This never happens! Robyn's family is coming next week for spring break. Last month we had Burke parents, my mom and Tiffany. I think now all we need is Ryan's family and my dad and Gail. Then we're all caught up! How fun! :)

Preschool fun

It was Peter's birthday so we did a b-day pre-school, since it was my turn. We talked about all the things they like to do and eat on their birthdays, and we played games. It was pretty fun. I let them decorate cupcakes and then put a candle in his so he could blow it out and make a wish.
After we played outside Peter wanted to watch 15 minutes of Despicable Me until their moms came. Wish granted! :)
Later that afternoon I came into the front room to find Katelin like this:
Very creative, I know. Hahaha, I love how her blanket is wrapped around her head too. She's so much fun.

planting herbs

I got some cute pots to put in my window sill in the kitchen. Katelin and I planted some herbs in them that we could pick and use while cooking.

Kaleb helped out for a minute too. I love this of Katelin helping him clean his hands off.
Then I cut out some vinyl to remind us of what we planted - and to cutsie them up even more, of course! I'm excited for them to grow and grow.

Visit with Candice and Josh

While we were in Salt Lake for Conference we got to see Candice and Josh with their two little foster kids. They are such great parents to these little ones. They are such sweet kids. We were so happy to see them all. They came from San Diego to visit.
Kaleb loved holding the little baby and playing with their little girl also. The kids were so entertained by these little ones. It was adorable.
He loved how tiny he was. He had to compare hand sizes.
We are going to see Candice and Josh over the summer in San Diego. We're excited!!!

Surprise baby shower

My sister, Juli, is having her last little one at the end of the month. Us sisters and my mom get together during the Priesthood session of conference while our husbands are gone and have dinner, let the kids play and we talk. This time we decided to thrown a little sisters baby shower for Juli. She was surprised, it was so much fun! Afterwards I took some pics of her cute pregnantness. :) I love the heart hands. We're so excited to meet little Boston!

Conference at dads

We all gather to my dads to watch Sunday afternoon conference. It was also our last weigh-in day for our weight loss challenge we did together. So my dad came up with a cute awards ceremony. I should have written them all down. But here is most of us. Arik is the winner losing 51 pounds (about 18% weight loss from his original weight!). We each put in 15$ per person to reward the winner at the end. So he got some spending money to go buy some new clothes...or whatever. :) I was runner up, so my dad gave me a power bar - Mmmmm! Haha!
I had to share Arik's before and after pics so you could see his change, it's amazing!!!!!

BEFORE:
AFTER: (AMAZING, right?!!!!!)
The kids had fun playing on the stairs and playing on the computer with grandpa. Riley and Katelin had me take their pics from up above. I have a million of Riley, he was having fun with this game.

Lose It!

My family and I did our own Biggest Loser this year. We started on January 3rd and ended April 3rd. It was very motivating to do it with everyone. I stuck to it a lot easier than normal. I even made a blog for all of us to go to post our weight loss each week. I loved reading it each week. I lost 17 pounds (9.8%), lost 5 inches off of my belly and dropped two pant sizes!!! I feel really ood. I have pics of everyone at my dads house announcing the winner (my bro-in-law Arik!) I'll post those soon! Here's some "fun" before and after pics.

(excuse my weird mouth - I was talking to Burke while he took these - Hahehehaha!)
more to come later! :)
