Pam Hunt, the first grade teacher at Book Cliff Elementary, always does a Fancy Nancy Week with her students. They learn new fancy words and do a lot of fun activities. On the Friday of that week they all get to come dressed up FANCY and have lunch with their reading buddies, the 6th graders. I happen to have BOTH a first and a sixth grader this year, I got lucky! I got to go help, it was so much fun, I loved it ALL!
Katelin with her reading buddies, each 1st grader gets two buddies, since there's only 11 1st graders!
Kaleb and a classmate are reading buddies to little Ellie.
Mrs. Maughan taught them some French words.
Jordanne taught Katelin how to open up her fan in a fancy way, haha.
All of us Fancy mama's here to help, with Mrs. Hunt.
Mr. Hughes read them a Fancy Nancy book about Etiquette, I think and they also watched a video on etiquette before their fancy lunch.
This was my group of helpers. We were in charge of getting the ice cream ready in the cups with a cookie.
They had fruit, sandwiches, crackers with cheese, ice cream, cheese/pickle/olive plate and sprite. Us moms served them. They were too cute!
They had to walk around and mingle. Mr. Hughes would ask a question and they had to mingle and tell someone your answer. Then he'd change the question and they'd find someone else to talk to.
At the end they got with their new reading buddies. Katelin now has Kaleb and one of his best buddies, Kambre. Katelin was SOoooooooo excited.
