Nice visit

Burke's Grandpa came to visit us on his way home from Colorado Friday. Sadly Burke had a volleyball game that night and didn't get home until 9:30. So the kids and I got to go out to eat with Grandpa and play with his dog Daisy. So Burke got to visit with him when he got back that night and a little in the morning before he left. It was really nice having him over, we just love him! And the kids sure loved playing with Daisy also. They aren't dog people, but this dog is different and we just love her too.

Kaleb stayed up with us until Burke got home. He just sat by the dog and pet her forever and then she started to fall asleep. He's got the touch.
It's neat that our kids get to know some of their Great Grandparent's before they pass on. They are such amazing people.

Our front yard

They have been working on the sewers here in Green River. It's been quit the project and they are now in front of our house. Not near our home, but directly in front of our house. It's a mess. They informed us the other day that this was the hardest part of the project also because they had to dig the deepest and there were other complications they didn't know of and so forth. I don't know how long it will last. It hasn't been too bad really. I say do what ya need to do ya know?! But, I did find it funny that they asked us on Friday if it was ok if they left this pile of dirt in front of our house. Uh, are there any other options? Sure. Funny.

But, also in our front yard are these flowers that are just blooming this past couple of weeks. We planted them late in the season and they have taken this long. It is a nice pretty sight.

So we have quit the contrast when we walk out the front door. Such is life!

Friends are GREAT!!!

Some of us girls here decided to go to Grand Junction last Saturday to see a movie together. The plan was to go and see Fame, but it was gone before we could go so we saw All About Steve instead and had a good laugh together. Then we did some good ol' shoppin' and then ate at the YUMMY Olive Garden. Then some more shopping! Grand Junction is just under an 1 1/2 away so that's a good 3 hours of our time and then eating, a movie and shopping. We were gone for about 10 hours! It was a well needed 10 hour break and I got some good Christmas shopping done without the kids there wondering what we were buying and some needed girl time. This time it was Annie, me and Danielle. Some other ladies couldn't make it this time, so we'll just have to do it again!

I had a heck of a time getting a picture of us - need to figure out that timer. So that's all we've got for now!

Birthday Calendar

This is no ordinary birthday Calendar, this is a Year to Year Birthday Calendar. You can use it FOREVER, or until it is ripped to shreds. I've been wanting to do one of these for a while and I kept giving them away, so now it's my turn! Here's an up close look at some of them.
So if you are wanting to make one for yourself or for a gift here's some tips:

1. In Word make 3 columns and type up how many numbers are in each month and add two lines, in case there ends up being more than one birthday on one day. Print and cut them out.
2. Get some cute paper for bordering. Use 12x12 for the tallest piece and leave it at the 12 in. length and then cut it to the width you want it.
3. Glue it all low so you can add the month at the top with stamps or I used the Cricut cutter for most of mine. And then decorate with stamps for the season if you want. Stamp light enough that you can see your writing of birthday's through them.
4. Punch a hole at the top of each one and thread ribbon through to hang on your wall.
5. You will now stay updated each month with birthday's of people you care about in your life!

And it's fun too!! If you like that kind of stuff, anyway!

Omi's visit

My mom came to watch the kids in their primary program on Sunday. Our family was asked to be the family acting like we were having a Family Home Evening for the program. Kaleb and Kaiya were are kids along with two older ones also. So it was really nice that Katelin could sit with my mom, I don't think she would have done so well sitting up with us for that long.

My mom brought the kids this slime to give to them when we got home from church. They seriously played with it for hours that day. So much fun.
My mom takes the train to come and visit us. It's fun to go and get her and see her off. The kids think it is so cool. Katelin has a hard time getting used to hearing the train for a few days after she's gone though, when she hears it she always says, "let's go get Omi!!!" Her husband Dave didn't come so after my mom got here Katelin heard another train and said "there's Opa." Hahaha, so cute.

Thanks again mom! It was fun to have you as usual. :)

Not much to say...

...or so I thought. I haven't blogged this week because I didn't think I had anything. Also I've had sick kids all week and so that's kept me busy. But today I got all of the pictures off of my camera and I had tons on there that I had forgotten about! So keep scrolling down for more of "the little things" going on in our lives!

Conference weekend

On Saturday night my sister's and I got together while our husbands were attending the priesthood session of conference. We always have a good time. We missed my mom this time though because she kindly volunteered to stay with little Oakley, my sister's newborn, since Kaleb was sick. We made Cafe Rio's Pork Barbacoa recipe. It was SO yummy! I was going to take a picture and I forgot! We met at my sister Robyn's house and the kids watched Monster's vs. Aliens, well kind of. They mostly played around and occasionally watched the movie. My battery in my camera was about to die, so I didn't even bother getting my camera out. So luckily my sister Tiffany took some pictures that I got from her - thanks Tiff!

Apparently something was really funny, and I cannot remember what that was. We are always laughing about something though, so it's not really surprising that I can't remember what it was.

We stayed at my mom's house and watched conference on Saturday in the comfort of their front room. The kids did pretty good and hung out with us the whole time. Mostly coloring, and Kaleb resting on the couch. It was really relaxing. Thanks mom and Dave for letting us hang out!

Then on Sunday we go to my dad's for the afternoon session and try to listen while the kids run around and play. I love to get as much time as I can with my family since I don't see them as much as I would like.
All of the kids gather into the play/tv room to watch a Christmas movie. I don't know why that is always what they choose, but they do. Kaleb was still feeling yucky with a fever so he rested on the couch a lot.
I'm really glad we got to go and visit and watch conference with family over the weekend. I loved it all. :)

Gardener Village Witch Day

We went to Salt lake for our Fall break and conference. We started it off Friday with Gardener Village to see the witches. It was SO busy. I had no idea it was a huge thing!

The girls with the princess witch.
Kaiya didn't feel like having a picture moment, it was too sunny!

Katelin loved hanging out with Grandma and Chalei and eat candy corn. Mmmmmmm.

There was a table out that they could sit down and color at. Kaleb was done in about 1 minute, but Kaiya took this seriously. She has really started to love to color. So she had to stay and finish hers.
Kaiya getting her eyes glittered.
Candice took Kaiya to get their eyes glittered. Kaiya loved it. What a cute aunt she has!
Since she did that for Kaiya she wanted to do something for Kaleb too. He really wanted to go into the petting zoo, so that's what he did. We watched him from outside the fence and he just went wherever he wanted to. It was fun to watch him to see which ones he'd pet and which ones he wouldn't.
What a fun day, thanks for letting me know about it Robyn! We had a really fun time. I didn't know it was such a huge thing though, next year I'll plan on bringing a little money so the kids can pick a couple of things to do. Then Kaleb ended up getting sick that night! Of course, right when we get to Salt lake! Poor guy.

Soccer has begun

Kaleb chose to do soccer again this year. It's his third year in a row! He has really enjoyed it even though their team hasn't won yet. They are improving though. We have fun watching him play and cheering him on.

We have such sweet girls here in Green River that love to play with our girls. I always have babysitters everywhere I go. It's great and the girls love to play with them.

Warming up.
The Green Team! I guess they don't really have a name! We call them that just because they got the green shirts. Silly. (The little girl on the left is the daughter of the coach, not a little person on the team - hahaha)

Just for fun

I really love photography. I am looking to get a more professional camera one of these years, but for now my little Kodak will have to do. I went out one day and took some pictures for fun. I know there's some cool places to take pictures around here so I will be on a quest to find the best places soon and I'll take you all on the journey with me! Here's some of this day I went out searching for a good place. I didn't get get to far away (right across the street) because I had Katelin with me and then that night the sun set faster than I was ready for! Better luck next time.

This one turned out to be my absolute favorite of the whole day. So sweet. She loved picking up the rocks and trying to carry as many as she could along with her ball.
Then she tried to put them in my pocket which was unsuccessful.

This one an end of the day hair-do. Haha, she's such a cutie.
Cute toothless boy. And I've always loved his eyebrows. So cute.

The whole family ended up outside on my walk across the street.
My fast little runner!
