So sweet

While we were walking into church on Sunday Kaiya and Kaleb were running and Kaiya fell and scraped up her little knee pretty bad. I ended up taking her home because it was hurting her so bad. Which was sad too, because that morning she said "Is it church day?" I told her it was and she said "YES! I love to go to church!!!" I was so excited that she was so excited to go to church! Anyway, we bandaged her up and she's been resting it. Yesterday she wanted to play with Kaleb outside while Burke was doing yard work. They are such good friends and play really well together. Don't get me wrong, they have their moments of being stinkers to eachother, but they were having so much fun out back at this time. They were playing in the shed and Kaiya's knee got bumped and so I told them to come in. I asked Kaleb to help her and have her put her arm around him to help her walk. So he did and also got her a baton to act as a cane for easier walking. I had to grab the camera because they were so cute. It's amazing the different emotions these kids make me feel. I'm so grateful for the sweet moments that help me forget the crazy moments. I sure love them and am so glad to have this wonderful mom experience in life.

My Sporty Princess

This is how Kaiya was dressed up today. I thought it was such a perfect way to describe her - girly princess/athletic cutie. She loves dressing up pretty and she is also so good at sporty things, she amazes me. So of course, I had to take some pictures of her to remember the moment. Such a cutie.

Our inside garden

Burke has been a planting crazy man! I'm excited for them all to grow and grow...outside! It will be nice to have the laundry room back to normal. I am very impressed with all he has done though. He built that shelf and hung the lights from the ceiling. Pretty exciting stuff. We planted flowers too and I can't wait to plant them outside too and enjoy their prettiness.

Another fun quiz

I saw this on my friend Abby's blog and thought I'd try it out. Here are the results:

You are Elinor Dashwood of Sense & Sensibility! You are practical, circumspect, and discreet. Though you are tremendously sensible and allow your head to rule, you have a deep, emotional side that few people often see.

I am Elinor Dashwood!

Fun for the kiddies

I thought I'd post this link for story ideas for your kids. I printed all of these pictures for each story out for my kids and put velcro circles on this bulletin board we never use and then the other part of the velcro on the back of the cardstock I glued the cut out picture to. The kids have so much fun telling the stories to each other and puting the pics up on the board. It also gives you the option to print them out in color or in black and white so they can color them themselves. They have about five different stories ready to print out with pictures. Have fun telling stories!!! :)) (I made this new smiley face up - it's me smiling with my double chin! Must start exercising again!!! And no more chocolate marshmallow cookies.)

She may be little...

but she can sure throw a dart! We bought this dart board for Burke for Christmas and have finally had a place to hang it up. Kaiya decided to try it out the other day and I didn't think she'd get one in because she's a shorty and you have to throw it pretty hard to make it stick in. She proved me wrong quickly. That was so funny and she was so excited about it all.

Fun in the sun

We had the sprinklers on out back last week because the weather was wonderful! The girls had SO much fun getting wet. Katelin would just crawl on the sidewalk back and forth through the water. Kaiya loved playing with her in the water. They're such cute and fun sisters. Isn't that adorable how Kaiya put her cute little hand on Katelin's face? I was just taking a picture of Katelin and Kaiya's hand was there right away - so sweet.

Fun type test

71 words

Speedtest

OK, so just for the record, I'm not bragging that this is an amazing score ok?!? I thought it was really fun though. I always have loved to type, but haven't had to do much of it while being a mom so I felt pretty excited that I still had a little speed in me! :) It did take me four tries to get that score though. hehehe.

More painting

I've been having so much fun painting! I got the kitchen done a while ago and then over the weekend I did the den/scrapbook/guest room. I love it!

Here's our happy yellow kitchen.

And here's the den before.

And after. I painted it orange and I love it! Some of the pictures are kind of dark, sorry. You'll just have to come see it in person for the real effect. :)
Here's my little scrapbook area.

This room is also Burke's guitar lesson room. He just started teaching two kids last month. They come once a week. It's nice to have a seperate room they can use for lessons.

FHE

For our Family Home Evening each Monday we have a great book we get cute and easy lesson ideas out of called "Another Year of Family Home Evenings." On Monday we did one about putting on the whole armor of God. It was so much fun and the best part for the kids was that we got to make armor for them out of tin foil!! They LOVED that! While you put each piece of armor on someone reads about the symbolism of each piece out of Ephesians 6. It's always nice when you can teach them something spiritual while doing something fun.
Oh, and the reason their shirts are so big is because they were on a "wearing mom and dad's shirts to bed" kick this week. It's over now though, back to their own pajamas.

Family time

We watched conference with my mom and her husband Dave at their hotel since we don't have cable here. It was so nice! I am excited to read them all again though because I have kids and didn't get to hear every single word. I'm sure you know what I mean. My sister Robyn e-mailed us some General conference activity packets for the kids and they LOVED those Robyn so thanks a ton!!! After conference we all went to these petroglyphs and pictographs that are about 20 minutes away. Here are some pictures of our trip.

And I found that I LOVE taking black and white photo's of old run-down houses and freaky old tree's (and cute kids too)! Isn't that cool?!?! We had so much fun out and about exploring.

Talk about cute! And no, Katelin is not standing or floating, you can see Burke's hands holding her up there. That was so funny. They are so much fun and such great posers.

And for the last thing, we saw some deer while we were out and that was really fun. It's amazing how they just blend in with the scenery. How many deer are in this picture?

Fun with glow sticks

Omi and Opa came to visit over the Conference weekend. It's so nice having them here and hanging out with them. My mom ALWAYS gives the kids a prize when she see's them and all of the grandkids love that! Who wouldn't right? So on Friday the prize was glow sticks. We had lots of fun with them in Kaleb's room making different pictures and Kaleb and Kaiya also loved just swinging them around. Thanks for the fun Omi and Opa!!!! :)
