Sally

We've had a request for more pictures of Sally (from my sister Robyn). Her kids loved playing with Sally while we were in town for Christmas. She is a fun little cuddly thing. So here you go!

Burke was brave and gave her a haircut on Saturday. She was so good and just layed on his lap the whole time and then she fell asleep. He laid her on the ground to get her belly and she was still out. I was just cracking up at the site, but I didn't even think of taking any pictures right then! My goodness.

She loves Kaiya's Cinderella chair to cuddle up and sleep in.
Love it when she tilts her head like this, like I'm saying something really important. Cute.
I was taking pictures of Kaleb for his baptism invitation this morning and he had to get a picture with Sally too, so I had to throw this one in.

Kaiya's birthday

Since we already had Kaiya's birthday cake the day before with friends we decided to do something a little different on her birthday. I found this recipe for a pizza cookie and she loved the idea, so we did it. You just bake all of the dough on this pizza pan. After it's cooled you add this chocolate frosting made with butter, chocolate chips and powdered sugar. After that is spread onto it you add whatever fixin's you want. I had to stick candles into the marshmallow's so that we could sing to her.

Kaleb and Katelin were just excited to eat it!

She's so proud that she got all of those candles blown out. Yum-o! We had gotten the movie G-Force that day through Netflix and decided to watch it while we ate. I spread out a big sheet for them to sit on and they ate Kaiya's requested birthday dinner - Enchiladas and then had the cookie dessert. She was excited to eat while watching a movie. It's a good thing we don't do that all of the time or she wouldn't have thought it was so cool!
We played games later and just had fun celebrating Kaiya. I also try to remember to get out the baby video's on their birthday's. So we watched Kaiya when she was just a little thing also. It's amazing how she's grown into this sweet little six year old. She is such a good, smart and pretty little girl and we are so thankful to have her in our family.

Kaiya's friend party

Kaiya will be six tomorrow, the 19th!!! I love it that she was born on Martin Luther King day so she always has a day off right around her birthday. So we always choose to do her friend party on our day off. It works out perfect!

Kaiya and Katelin blowing bubbles while they wait for the girls to come. Only three girls showed up, but I actually think it was perfect. Then there was five total including Kaiya and Katelin. We had a lot of fun. I love doing parties for these little ones.
Here's the cake Burke made for Kaiya this year. ADORABLE huh?!? I love it and so did Kaiya.
He looked at this pony book to do it. I could never! So fun.
When they arrived they got to go and pick something out of the girls dress up clothes to dress up in for our party. Then we played the freeze game. When the music was playing they would dance and then when it stopped they would freeze, if they moved they were out until the next song. Another game that was so fun was I had a different princess sticker on about six different pieces of paper. I taped one on their backs and then one at a time they would stand up and the girls sitting down could see which princess it was and the girl with the princess on her back asked questions about it and would then guess which one it was. They did so good, they know their princesses for sure!
BINGO time! I have cute bingo cards with pictures on them. If they got a bingo then they got to pick a prize out of the treasure chest. There was candy, rings, bracelets, balloons, whistling straws, and a few other things. They loved playing and picking a prize with all of our games.
Then we opened presents.
Thumbleina from Belle.
A fun Hannah Montana guitar that has all sorts of crafty sequins, beads and glitter glue from Julianna.
Money and a card from cute Lilliana.
Cake time.

We played a cake walk type of game, but they won something from the treasure chest instead if they landed on the right polk-a-dot.
I had to get one of them in their regurlar clothes too. They were so much fun to have over. After we were all finished with the games I used pink nail polish and put little polka dots on their nails. They loved that.
And they had to throw a funny face in there too. Cute girls!

Tiff's house

While Burke was taking his Praxis test in Provo the kids and I hung out at Tiff's and the kids played and played and played some more. It was fun to be able to hang out there so they could have some good ol' cousin time. Here they are playing play dough.

Reagan and Riley are pretty into whatever Kaleb is making.
These girls are really into their work.

And the girls picking a piece of candy while saying cheese! They are so funny. Cute little Dorito mouths.
Thanks for letting us stay over Tiff!

Stuff

I've been wanting to post some recipes I've loved lately, but haven't had the desire to actually do it! I will, but just not right now. But it just bugs me when I come to my blog to check up on other's and I have the same post FOREVER! Does that irritate anyone else? So I've decided to just come on here and update this without pictures. I think I've only done that, maybe once or twice, maybe. I'm just a picture person. So here I am breaking out of my shell, trying something new.

Last weekend Burke signed up to take two Praxis tests he needed to take before the end of the school year. And he needs to take one more. Most people take one at a time, but Burke got two in there just for fun I guess. We don't even know if he passed them yet, we are just hoping so he doesn't have to retake them. We stayed at my sister Tiffany's house and the kids and I played around while Burke took his test and Tiffany worked (bummer) and Randy finished their kids bedrooms downstairs - they look awesome! My sister's and mom went to see Blind Side, which I loved! Really a great show with a great message. Haven't seen one of those in a while. I loved hanging out with the girls, that is always the highlight of our trips. So fun.

I was teaching the Sunbeams last year and this year I am teaching the 6 and 7 year olds. So Kaleb is in my class. Can I just tell you, it is SO great to teach this class! I ask a question and they answer it! It is so much fun. The sunbeams are adorable, but it's just nice to teach some older kids for a change. But this last Sunday we had 11 kids in our class!!!!!!!!!!! That was 5 more than last week! It was a bit crazy, we're going to have to figure out a seating chart or something. They are fun though.

Today I took Kaleb to the dentist to get a tooth pulled. One of his permanent front teeth was growing in behind his tooth instead of pushing it out! Poor guy. So then after the x-rays we found out that he should get one on each side of his front teeth removed also for these to come in more straight. POOR GUY!!! So he was concerned about getting one pulled and ended up getting even more concerned with crying and screaming during the pulling for three! Oh, that is really hard, I was no help, just holding his hands and I couldn't even talk. I didn't know what to say - "it's ok, Kaleb" - no it's not, he's screaming in pain! "We're almost done Kaleb" - Nope, still have two more to go! I was at a loss. Another assistant came in and helped out with the talking so I could just be the hand holding - helpless mother. That was nice, didn't make him stop, but nice. The other people there were probably glad when we left. Then later after dinner I asked Burke to help Kaleb finish his reading and while he was scooting up his chair it landed on Kaleb's toe! POOOOOOOOOR GUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUYYYYYYYYYYYyyy!!! Seriously. He's ok now. We'll see in the morning.

That's all for now. Hopefully some recipe's soon. :) Have a happy day!

Christmas with the Simmons

As I said in an earlier post, I wasn't able to take any pictures with the Simmons for Christmas. So Candice e-mailed me a bunch! Thanks Candice!!! I loaded them all on here backwards on accident and I'm not going to flip them, so this will just be a backwards post. :)

Cute Cal and Cyndy.
Cute Candice and Josh.
OK. This was awesome! I got Burke and Kaleb these Nerf guns that came with these vests and goggles. The tip of the bullet had Velcro on it and so did parts of the vest. So you had to try and get it into a certain target for points. Josh and Burke decided to take it outside and give it a try.

They took this seriously and took ten steps away from each other and then turned around and started shooting. Hahaha! They crack me up.
Let the battle begin.
Katelin loving her new keyboard.
The kids were so excited about getting their new scooter's. Especially Kaiya. She just loves to ride that thing and is pretty good at it too. She is also wearing a new outfit. It's so much fun that she loves new clothes.
Burke and Kaleb tried out the nerf guns in the house.
Here is everyone on Christmas Eve at Burke's Grandpa's house. He was so kind and let us bring everything over to his house for our Christmas Eve program. Kaleb was having an allergic reaction to the cat over at Burke's parents house. It was so nice to have somewhere close to go to. It was a really nice night. We sang a couple of songs and then the kids did the nativity and then we opened presents from the grandparents.
Here's the little cuties. Burke's sister's Candice and Chanelle came with their families to celebrate Christmas. It was so nice to have them. We don't get to see them very often and the kids were so excited to see their cousins. I love how Kaiya's little crown thing is falling off and she's just cracking up. Cuties!
Here's Joseph and Mary on Josh the donkey.
Cal read Luke 2 while we watched the kids act it out. Chanelle's baby was tired so we used a wrapped up blanket for the baby. It worked just fine.
Before the Christmas Eve stuff we were at the simmons house and had a wonderful dinner. Cyndy always goes all out and makes wonderful meals. YUM!
The adults ate at the table and the kids fit perfect at the counter. It was really fun to sit and be able to catch up on life with everyone.
Christmas is so wonderful. I just love it!

New Years Eve and Day

The kids all got scooters for Christmas. Since there has been so much snow they haven't been able to ride them much. They have tried in the house, but there have been collisions, so that's out now. The sun was out during the day yesterday so Burke cleared the driveway the best he could and they rode and rode. Kaiya is always the one to ride the longest, she loves it!

They are figuring out all of these little tricks that are pretty fun to watch. I guess you could call this the sit and ride.
And they also try to pop wheelies, which is harder to do than they would like. It was so funny when I went outside to watch them. They both started telling me to watch this and watch that. So exciting!

Even Katelin is loving her little scooter. Adorable.
On New Years Eve we were having some friends over to play games and eat yummy food. The kids were beyond excited and Kaleb decided to set up his room for a band. He put some toys on the floor they could bang with drum sticks and swords for guitars. These pictures are from the next day when they were playing band again.
I bet you can't tell which song they were rocking out to by the looks of these pictures. I tried to add a little video so that you could see which song it was for yourself, but it is not working. So I'll just have to tell you: Hokey Pokey. Hahaha! Rockin' song huh?
New Years Eve my friend Danielle brought the Wii game Dance Dance Revolution. Neither of us had ever played it. It was hard to figure out and I am horrible at it! She did pretty good though. It was really fun though and gave us some good laughs and a work out! Katelin wanted to join in, here she is shakin it. :) We played other board games too and really had a great New Years Eve!
