Goblin Valley Easter Egg Hunt

My sister Juli and brother Ryan and their families came down to good ol' GR for Easter this year.  On Saturday we headed over to Goblin Valley - THE BUSIEST DAY OF THE YEAR - to have an Easter Egg hunt and go climbing around.  It was SUPER busy and REALLY fun!  Here are some pictures of the fun.  My friend, Annie and her family came along too.  It was such a fun day.  Here are some pics of our fun time there.  The kids, and even Dale, found rocks that they turned into a bed and many other things.  It was fun to see their creativity come alive.

Afterwards, Juli and Annies families took off home and Ryan's family and ours headed over to Hanksville to the Hollow Mountain and to have shakes at Blondies next door.
Oh, Erin and I saw this shirt and had to get a picture of it.  She actually bought it too!  She thought it would be funny to wear it on our trip to Creative Health Institute wear we will learn Vegetation ways.  Hahaha!  Was an amazing day.  We LOVED having family and friends come and play with us.  THANKS guys!

APRIL FOOLS DAY!

Burke and I were pretty excited about doing some funny pranks on the kids this year.  We had a fun day full of them.

While the kids were sleeping they had their faces drawn on with eyeliner - Kaleb had a mustache and the girls had freckles.   Kaleb was the first to see it in the bathroom.  I told them to get up and get ready for school (it was Sunday) - he did and was the first to see his face.  Hahaha!

Then we surprised them with some yummy Lucky Charms cereal.  BUT when Burke poured it into their bowls, peeps fell out.  They were still waking up and were so confused.  Kaleb laughed.

THEN we told them to go get their underwear and clothes so they could take showers.  They found their "panties in a bunch".  They were sewn through with thread one at a time.  That was so funny!
Kaleb always love to jump in on the fun when we do things.  For one of his pranks he got a Mr. Potato head and wrapped it in foil.  We had baked potatoes for dinner and Katelin got the surprise.  That was a good one too.

We asked the kids to go and get the eggs out of the chicken coop.  They loved it when they went out and found candy filled eggs in the coop instead.
Kaleb and Burke put purple food coloring in the sour dough before they baked it.
Burke surprised them with the movie HOP for us to watch together that night also.  This one was a make-up from last year.  Last year this movie had just came out in the theaters and his April Fools joke was that Omi was going to take them to see it - and then he said APRIL FOOLS!!  That was SO mean!  So this year when we saw it for rent, we got it and surprised them.  They were pretty excited for that.

It was a lot of fun relaxing with each other all weekend long.

Who are those crazy people!!!???

Conference Weekend

We are usually out of town for Conference - I think this is our second time staying home.  So we got creative and found some fun ideas to keep the kids interested or at least wanting to hang out with us.  :)

Here they are with all of their conference papers ready to use.  Look at them all watching!  SO impressive...
or that could be because of THIS:
Hahahaha!  I printed out these little pictures I found and taped them onto bowls of goodies.  When they heard that work mentioned they got to take ONE treat from that bowl.  This lasted us for both sessions on Saturday AND Sunday.  It was really fun and Burke had fun choosing all these treats!  We don't do that, ever!  I loved all of the messages.  It was fun to relax at home with our little family and just be.  I was super emotional and kept crying about everything during that first session.  It was good crying though.  I am so thankful for the Spirit that continues to teach me.  Saturdays sessions were a lot about Missionary Work, I loved it.
While Burke was at the Priesthood session the kids and I played Just Dance.  Here's the kids playing the Kids version.  I didn't join them on this one.  They were so cute to watch.  They've got those moves DOWN!

Color Wars

Last week at the Elementary each class was given a certain color to wear.  One class was chosen as the winner, depending on how many students wore their color.  Kalaeb's class was blue, he wore his blue t-shirt and blue jeans.  He used to have a blue jacket, but it's lost - so this one had to do.  Kaiya's class was - yep you guessed it - GREEN!  Both of them got their favorite color as their class color.  CUTE!  We sent some green ribbon with Kaiya to tie as bracelets on the girls in her class also.  They loved it.
